Over time, your silver jewellery may lose some of its shine or develop a darker layer called tarnish. This is completely natural, and happens when silver reacts with moisture, air and other elements around us. A little care goes a long way in keeping your favourite Vrisha pieces looking beautiful for years to come.

Store it with care

How you store your jewellery makes a big difference.

• Keep pieces separate: store each piece in its own pouch or zip-lock bag to prevent scratches and tangling.
• Keep moisture away: store your jewellery in a cool, dry place. A silica gel packet inside your jewellery box can help reduce moisture.
• Wrap delicate pieces: a soft microfiber or jewellery cloth is ideal for protecting silver from scratches.
• Give your jewellery some breathing room: avoid leaving pieces exposed to humidity for long periods.

Take it off when needed

Silver jewellery is made to be worn, but it is best to take it off before:

• Showering or swimming
• Exercising or activities that cause excessive sweating
• Applying perfumes, lotions or other beauty products
• Prolonged contact with water or household chemicals

This helps minimise tarnishing and keeps your jewellery looking its best.

How to clean your silver jewellery

Your silver does not need constant polishing. For pieces you wear regularly, a gentle clean every few weeks, or whenever you notice dullness, is usually enough.

For everyday care

Gently wipe your jewellery with a soft, dry microfiber cloth after wearing it. This helps remove sweat, oils and everyday residue.

For light tarnish

Use a silver polishing cloth, such as the one included with your order, or a jewellery cleaner made specifically for sterling silver. Always follow the product instructions and be gentle, especially with delicate or detailed pieces.

A little extra care

If your jewellery has stones, pearls, plating, oxidised detailing or an intricate finish, avoid DIY cleaning methods such as toothpaste, lemon, baking soda or abrasive scrubbing. Repairs and resizing

Loose clasps, thinning chains, and rings that no longer fit can usually be put right. Ring resizing and size exchanges are free once per order within 30 days, and details are on the returns and refunds page. For repairs outside that window we will quote a fair cost before doing any work.
